Every so often, on a Friday morning at the end of the National Public Radio news, just before WFCR gets into its day-long classical music programming, you might hear me deliver a brief essay about the Red Sox in the World Series … or the Patriots facing the Giants in the Super Bowl … or the overly sentimental television coverage of the Olympic Games … or something else that might be on the mind of folks in western New England.

It’s fun doing these commentaries because they combine my love of radio and of writing. Here are a few samples for your listening pleasure:
