Every so often, on a Friday morning at the end of the National Public Radio news, just before our local affiliate, WFCR in Amherst, Mass., got into its day-long classical music programming, you might have heard me deliver a brief essay about the Red Sox in the World Series … or the Patriots facing the Giants in the Super Bowl … or the overly sentimental television coverage of the Olympic Games … or something else sports-related that might have been on the mind of folks in western New England.
It was fun doing these commentaries because they combined my love of radio and of writing.
